Was born and raised on a swine and dairy farm in Southern Illinois. Obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Illinois, did graduate work in nutrition and physiology of reproduction. Earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Illinois in 1959. Has worked with large calf operations on an International basis since 1968. Owned and operated six dairy-beef calf barns. Owned and operated the Lancaster Veterinary Clinic, Ltd., a 4-Veterinarian full service general practice, from 1959 until 1996. Worked with young cattle from Iraq to Hawaii, Canada to South America, New Zealand and Australia. Owns and operates Schnepper-International, Inc., selling animal health products and consulting in the food animal industry internationally, with a special emphasis on the baby Holstein calf. Conducts vaccine trials for major pharmaceutical companies, so he stays abreast with the new products that will be available. Writes articles monthly in the Producers Connection, a national veal journal, and other calf publications, as well as Schnepper-International's "Calf Talk." Is an author of a peer reviewed manuscript on an attenuated Pasteurella multocida and haemolytica vaccine. Dr. Schnepper is a speaker at Veterinary Conferences, feed company seminars, and producer meetings. |
